Community Chorus
announces new director
David Aakre will take the
baton as the new Chorus
Director of the Community
Chorus of Florence Oregon
this month.
Aakre, a graduate of Pacific
Lutheran University and
Portland State University, has
had extensive education and
experience in vocal teaching
and choral direction.
In addition to teaching voice
and guitar, he directs the
Southwestern Oregon
Community Choir, the Gloria
Dei Lutheran Church Choir,
and
the
Gold
Coast
Barbershop Chorus.
He also performs at the
Portside
Restaurant
in
Charleston.
The public will have an
opportunity to meet the new
director at registration for the
fall season of the Community
Chorus of Florence on
Thursday, Aug. 24, at 6:30
p.m..
The auditions will be held at
the Presbyterian Church of the
