OBITUARIES
WELLS—Haley
Rose
Wells, 16, of Mapleton, passed
away Aug. 12, 2017, from an
ATV accident.
Haley was born in Florence
Ore., to Wes
Wells and
S h e r r y
Fleming.
Haley also
g a v e
Va n e s s a
West
the
honor
of
helping par-
Haley Wells ent her.
She will
be missed greatly by her sib-
lings: Dominic Wells, Alyssa
West and Tyler Percell; her
best friend Skie Bowman;
grandparents Joyce and Steve
Tennison, Deb Fleming and
Don Fleming; several aunts
and uncles, cousins, many
friends and the whole
Mapleton community.
Haley was preceded in
death by her great-grandpar-
ents, Albert and Mary Wells,
and Margret Fleming; and her
uncle, Ward Wells.
She was born a city girl, but
it didn’t take long for her to
become a country girl. She
loved fishing, big trucks,
camping and riding dirt bikes.
Haley was full of energy and
was quite the comedian; the
room was never quiet when
she was there.
She played all sports that
Mapleton had to offer. She was
a hard worker; she started
working at Driftwood Shores
as a housekeeper at the age of
14.
A few months ago, she
decided to branch out in her
L OOKING
FOR
working career and started
working at BJ’s Ice Cream
Parlor.
Haley’s family would like to
thank the whole community
for all its support. They would
also like to thank all the volun-
teers and community members
who tried their hardest to help
save our daughter and provid-
ed support to our other chil-
dren until we could reach them
— Thank You!
Although family and friends
are sad to see her go so soon,
we know she was loved by
many. And though we don’t
know why she died so soon,
we know she’s at peace with
Weston
Bowman, Abby
Boydston
and
Brandon
Kimble.
She may be gone, but she,
too, will never be forgotten.
A celebration of Haley’s life
is being held at Mapleton High
School at 1 p.m. today, Aug.
16.
Haley’s family welcomes all
friends, family and the com-
munity to attend.

out west, sparking more of her
wanderlust.
Nancy lived life to the
fullest and met many dear
friends along her journey.
Nancy’s love for animals was
only matched by her love of
travel. In recent years, adven-
tures in her motor home took
her and her partner all over the
west, scoping out the next best
ATV spots, gardening, volun-
teering and exploring beautiful
places.
Nancy was a free spirit and
will be missed by the many
friends she made along the
way.
Nancy is survived by her
partner, Coit; son James
Edward Hale II (Karen) of
Phoenix, Ariz.; daughter
