‘Love is in the Air’ for Unitarians
At the Sunday, April 23,
worship service from 10 until
11 a.m. at the Florence
Unitarian
Universalist
Fellowship, Barb Ryan will
deliver the message titled:
“Love is in the Air.”
Ryan wears several hats in
her work as an independent
contractor. As the Guidess of
Happiness, she is the executive
director of Spiraling Toward
Joy and teaches classes, facili-
tates groups, leads workshops
and has speaking engagements
on love and happiness.
Her newest role is as a pub-
lished author of the book
“Love Loves Fear.” If a book
could hug, this one would. It is
the first in a series of books
entitled
“Love
Loves
Everything.”
The UU Fellowship, a sanc-
tuary for these challenging
times, is located at 87738 Hwy
101 at Heceta Beach Road and
is wheelchair accessible. Each
service concludes with refresh-
ments and a dialogue circle to
explore the questions that
come up during each service.
Every Sunday evening at
5:30, Jim Tubesing leads
Peaceful Meditations at the
Fellowship Hall.

Spirituali-Tea to observe Earth Day
On Monday, April 24 at
6:30 p.m., at 875 Seventh St.,
everyone is invited to join a
group of driends from varied
spiritual paths to discuss, with
respect to Earth Day, climate
change.
Several months ago in a
suburb of Paris, a highly sig-
nificant event focusing on cli-
mate change took place.
Parties to the U.N. Framework
Convention
on
Climate
Change drew to the famed
City of Light more than 150
heads of state, some 30,000
representatives of govern-
ments, international organiza-
tions, civil society and busi-
ness —and the news media.
In partnership with the
Bahá'í
International
Community
and
the
International
Environment
Forum (a Bahá'í-inspired
organization), a statement was
prepared and circulated.
Bahá'í participants also
organized or co-sponsored five
panel discussions on a wide
range of related topics. The
discussions presented positive
examples of how spiritual
qualities such as justice, trust-
worthiness, accountability and
unity can be brought to bear on
the problem of climate change.
The gathering will end at 8
p.m. with prayers for the
requests left in the Prayer Pole
in the garden of the Florence
Playhouse and those shared by
the group.
