KXCR to celebrate
anniversary, Earth Day
April 22 marks local public
radio station KXCR’s third
anniversary of community
radio.
The volunteer-powered sta-
tion brings progressive pro-
gramming, such as Radio
Ecoshock and others, to
Oregon’s Central Coast listen-
ers.
The station’s anniversary
coincides with Earth Day, giv-
ing KXCR the opportunity to
reinforce its deep concern
regarding climate change and
ecological degradation.

68. An anonymous Rotarian is matching the donation made by Mile to Go
Quartet to the SHS Music Department when they sell all 100 of their CDs
69. Rotarian Ron Green throws a 50th Birthday Bash and raises more than
$9200 for local non-profi ts SOS, Florence Food Share, and the Boys &
Girls Club
70. The Rotary Club’s Auction committee worked countless (thousands)
of volunteer hours to coordinate the annual auction being held at the
Florence Event Center on March 11, 2017
71. The Florence Rotary Club, which founded the Western Lane Community
Foundation’s 43 years ago, was happy to host the grant awards
presentation luncheon, distributing $72026 in grants to local non-profi ts.

The Dela Mora family of
Florence, continuing its schol-
arship memorializing their son,
Jose Dela Mora, will be hosting
their second annual taco feed to
raise funds for the scholarship
on Sunday, April 23, beginning
at noon.
The taco feed is being
cooked by the Dela Moras,
who own and operate Rosa’s
Mexican Restaurant, and will
be held from noon until they
sell out.
