Oregon Pacific Bank will be
holding its 10th annual Shred
Day on Saturday, April 22, from
11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until the
truck is full.
The shred truck will be set up
to accept confidential paper
materials to be shredded on site
in the Financial Center parking
lot, 1365 Highway 101.
The event is free and open to
everyone in the Florence com-
munity.
Business owners are asked to
please wait to bring confidential
materials for shredding until the
last hour of the event.
Remember that once the
shred truck is full, Oregon
Pacific Bank will be unable to
accept any more confidential
documents.
The public is encouraged to
take advantage of Free Shred
Day as a way for individuals to
protect themselves from identi-
ty theft and correctly dispose of
paper waste. After all paper
documents have been shredded
they are taken to be recycled,
allowing for a safe and respon-
sible way to dispose of confi-
dential paper materials.
Bank employees will also be
hosting a car wash during the
Shred Day event to raise money
for their Relay For Life team,
“Banking on Life.”
The car wash will be dona-
tion only and money raised will
go towards supporting the
American Cancer Society’s
efforts in cancer research, advo-
cacy and support services.
For more information about
Shred Day, call Oregon Pacific
Bank 541-997-7121 or visit

Rotary provides free seeds to community

of Florence provides free gar-
den seeds to Community gar-
dens.
This year, Ed Hume seeds
were given to Food Share
Gardens, Siuslaw School
Gardens, Florence

Mary’s Church Gardens.
The free seeds are given
through Rotary’s District 5110
Health and Hunger
Committee, which is res-
ponsible for assisting clubs
in the development of local
programs to help alleviate
hunger.
Specifically, to act as a
focal point to provide infor-
mation on hunger programs.
Especially where and how
to obtain donated garden seeds
for their local community gar-
dens, school gardens, produc-
tion gardens, as well as
obtaining requested vegetable
seeds for their international
Rotary Club partners.

“If this series, over the last 16 years, has taught us 6:20 PM
anything, it’s that just when you think it’s about 8:30 PM
to run out of gas, it gets outfitted with an even
more elaborate fuel-injection system. And that’s
never been more true than it is of “Fate” which
may just be the most spectacular one yet.” Variety
