Local DAR chapter welcomes new member
Sally Daugherty, who has
lived in Florence for many
years, was welcomed as a
new member of Oregon
Dunes Chapter Daughters of
the American Revolution
during the March 24 meeting.
Sally became interested in
her family history after a
nephew posted information
about their Revolutionary
War ancestor online several
years ago.
Membership
in
DAR
seemed a good way to dis-
cover and preserve the histo-
ry of her family “Patriot” and
to encourage other women to
do the same.

Florence
Community Easter Egg Hunt
will be held Saturday, April
15, at 10 a.m. in the Miller
Park open field area.
The Easter egg hunt is open
to all children ages 1 to 10
years old.
The hunt will consist of
more than 4,000 plastic eggs
filled with candy, along with
some prize eggs sprinkled in.

will hold its 27th Annual Job
Fair on Thursday, April 20,
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the
Center for Meeting and
Learning, Building 19, main
campus, 4000 E. 30th
Avenue, Eugene.
This is a free event open to
the public. Career and
Employment Specialist Tina
Hunter recommends that peo-
ple come dressed as if they
would for a job interview,
bring a resume and prepare a
pitch.
Participants can enter to
win door prizes, including
$100 gift certificates.
The goal of the fair is to
bring together employers and
job seekers from the college
and the community.
This year’s fair is spon-
sored by the Lane Career
in 2008.
Its mission is to promote
historic preservation through
four
Oregon
museums,
encourage education through
youth programs and celebrate
patriotism through service to
veterans and active duty mil-
itary personnel.
