t was the best of times — with 22 gourmet, hand-made dessert creations, there was no other way to
be at Death by Dessert on Feb. 22. Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshops (CROW) transformed
its annual Valentine’s Day fundraiser to include community partnerships with local bakers, restaurateurs
and businesses. “I’d love to brag a bit about the huge turn out — over 175 people — and also report on
the awesome silent auction — over 120 great items — great band and delicious desserts by our 22 fabu-
lous bakers. Plus, we’d love to thank Three Rivers Casino Resort again,” said CROW Artistic Director
Melanie Heard. Of the desserts, first place went to Shorewood Senior Living for raspberry patchwork
hearts; second place went to Claudia Siebert for “Death by Chocolate;” and third place went to Amy
Tregoning for her Oreo truffles. There were also games, photos and more, staffed by volunteers and
CROW actors in the upcoming “The Addams Family Musical.” Some actors even took to the dance floor
to show the attendees the way to move to Buck and A Quarter Band’s swinging tunes. Guest soloists also
performed. “At CROW, we sing songs and do dances, which makes life way better,” Heard said. For

Total assets increased $27.3
million, or 13.4 percent. Net
loans and deposits also experi-
enced strong growth due to the
banks’ expansion into the
Eugene market with its
Professional Banking Office,
and expected growth from its
more established branches in
Roseburg, Coos Bay and
Florence.
“We are very pleased with
our growth and improvement
in operational efficiency and
profitability,” said Ron Green,
president and chief executive
officer, “and we are working
towards providing increased
value for our shareholders. Our
staff is very committed to
delivering the highest level of
client service and industry
leading expertise.
“The opening of our
Professional Banking Office in
downtown Eugene has allowed
us to diversify our product
offering and clientele.”
Green said OPB’s Eugene
team is led by long-time
Eugene banker Jeff Gusinow.
The focus, according to
Green, has been on establishing
relationships with the medical
services, legal, accounting and
Real Estate investment indus-
tries.
“Jeff is joined by Vice
President Linda Arnold, who
leads our Trust Services depart-
ment in Eugene,” said Green.
“It is very unique and special
for a smaller, local bank to pro-
vide full service fiduciary,
wealth management and insur-
ance services to compliment
the traditional banking model.
“The bank has also estab-
lished the commitment to
meeting the banking needs of
non-profit agencies in all mar-
kets we serve.”
OPB has been headquartered
in Lane County for more than
37 years. Its corporate office is
located in Florence and it has
full-service banking branches
in Eugene, Roseburg, Coos
Bay and Florence.
Additionally, the bank pro-
vides professional fiduciary
and wealth management serv-
ices and maintains trust opera-
tions in all offices plus a trust
