Flotones seeks
singers for spring
The FloTones are search-
ing for a few good singers to
round out the ranks.
Florence’s premier vocal
jazz ensemble is currently
working
on
FloTones’
“Songs of Faith” for this
spring, as well as maintain-
ing a repertoire of jazz and
pop classics.
If you have seen and heard
the FloTones on stage at their

FUUF donates to Boys and Girls Club
On Jan. 25, Jennifer French,
Community Out-reach represen-
tative for the Florence Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship (FUUF)
delivered a donation of $2,210
to the Boys and Girls Club of
Western Lane County.
Florence’s Boys and Girls
Club strives for dynamic youth
development and serves grades
K-12 and about 600 members
each year. The core elements
offered at the club are academic
success, character, leadership
and healthy lifestyles.

and Teen Center Director Tracy
Aaron.

Henry said.
Henry touted the expansion
of the city’s social media pres-
ence, stating the city had more
than 4,000 followers on
Facebook.
He also said Florence is very
close to achieving Coast Guard
City USA recognition.
Under the fifth goal,
Financial and Organizational
Sustainability, Henry said, the
finance department negotiated
an

obtained additional $2 million,

Feb. 15 board meeting.
