Nearly three dozen volunteers, includ-
ing Board Members, of the Oregon Coast
Military Museum gathered together in
mid-January to be thanked for their serv-
ice.
“Volunteerism is a thread of the fabric
that is woven through the entire Florence
community, and like so many other great
organizations in Florence, we couldn’t
accomplish our mission without the time
and talent of our dedicated volunteers,”

stated Board President Wayne Sharpe.
He emphasized to those gathered that
like them, he too is passionate about the
mission of honoring veterans who have
given us the freedoms we enjoy today.
The event was catered by the
Beachcomber Tavern which is an avid
supporter of the Museum and its mis-
sion.
Chief of Staff Geoff Cannon com-
mented, “While we have a great cadre of
dedicated volunteers, we’re always
seeking more volunteers which would
allow us to open more days of the week,
so I invite interested folks to contact us
and explore the possibility.”
The Museum is located at 2145
Kingwood Street in Florence, and open
to the public Thursday through Saturday,
from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. You can learn
