Volunteers
sought for
homeless
count
Volunteers are needed for
Lane County‘s annual home-
less Point in Time Count
(PIT).
On Wednesday, Jan. 25,
Lane
County
Human
Services, along with its non-
profit partners, will conduct a
PIT count of people who are
homeless in Lane County.
The annual homeless
count reaches throughout the
community to people sleep-
ing on the streets, vehicles,
parks, camps, and other
places not designed for
human habitation.
Emergency shelter and
transitional housing pro-
grams designated for people
who are homeless are also
counted.
The next volunteer train-
ing for the count will be
Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 3:30
p.m.

Mapleton in 1964, when Fred
worked at U.S. Plywood, from
where he retired and eventually
passed away in 1983.
Ruth worked at Siuslaw
Bank in Mapleton for 17 years
and retired in 1985. She moved
to Beaverton in 2011.
She is survived by her four
children and their families: Ed
Iholts, Beverly Thornburg and
Duane Iholts, of Beaverton,
and Lonnie Iholts of Florence;
and numerous grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
No funeral service is
planned.
Private burial is planned to
lay her to rest beside her hus-
band Fred in Eugene.
Arrangements are being held
through Burns’s Riverside
Chapel Florence Funeral
Home.
GRETH—Roxanne Jean
(Heist) Greth, 82, of Florence,

14, 1934, in
Reading,
Pa.,
she
Roxanne
lived a joy-
Greth
filled life
that centered on her love of
family, travel, and her husband
of 62 years, Wallace Alan
Greth Sr.
She attended school in her
native Pennsylvania, graduat-
ing from Reading Senior High
School in 1952.
From there, she attended
Stevens College in Columbia,
Mo., graduating with an AA
degree in 1954.
She was married April 23,
1954, to Wallace Alan Greth in
Columbus, Mo. She gave birth
to her first two children,
Wendye Ann and Janeen Gay,
in Nuremberg, Germany, in
1955 and 1956.
Wallace, a Lieutenant in the
U.S. Army, was stationed at
Nuremberg at the time.
The Greth family moved to
Lakewood, Calif., in June
1957. Baptized into the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints on Feb. 1, 1958,
Roxanne was endowed and
sealed to her husband on
March 21, 1959.
Roxanne and her family
moved to Rowland Heights,
Calif., in 1962, before relocat-
ing to Concord, Calif., in 1974.
Roxanne and Wallace also
lived three-and-a-half years in
their comfortable RV before
settling in Florence.
Roxanne loved traveling
across the country in the RV,
and also loved to crochet for
her grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
She worked 25 years as a
supervisor for Pacific Tel & Tel
in both northern and southern
California.
Roxanne is survived by her
husband, Wallace Alan Greth
Sr., of Florence; five children:
Wendye Ann Manzone of
Grants Pass, Ore., Janeen Gay
Greth of Bend, Ore., Robin Lee
Goncalves of Antioch, Calif.,
Wallace Alan Greth Jr. of
Pleasanton, Calif., and Michael
Scott Greth of Brentwood,
Calif.; 15 grandchildren, and
six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for
Roxanne will be held Saturday,
Jan. 28, at 10 a.m. at the
Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-Day
Saints,
2705
Munsel Lake Rd., at the corner
of Munsel Lake and North
Fork roads.
In lieu of flowers, the family
is requesting donations to the
American Cancer Society.

charge of arrangements.

Volkoff, 66, of Florence,
passed away Jan. 14, 2017.
Arrangements are being held

Jan. 17
Damon Lee Barton pleaded
guilty to DUII and a misde-
meanor for driving with a sus-
pended driver’s license. He
was sentenced to four days in
Florence City Jail and must
report to treatment. He must
pay $2,280 in fines and his dri-
ver’s license is suspended for
one year.
Dustin Hale Richards plead-
ed guilty to theft and a misde-
meanor for driving with a sus-
pended driver’s license. He
was sentenced to three days in
Florence City Jail. He must
pay $1,720 in fines and not
contact or be in or about the
premises or place of employ-
ment of the victim.
Christopher Shane Cooper
pleaded guilty to theft. He was
sentenced to two days in
Florence City Jail. He must
pay $445 in fines and not be in
or about the premises or place
of employment of the victim.

Bob will
be remem-

knew him as
Robert Burch a loving hus-

Always ready with a joke
and a smile, he was an avid
golfer and fisherman. He made
time for his family and volun-
teering.
He leaves behind his loving

He will be sorely missed.
