Amateur photo contest announced for Land of Umpqua
Do you take pictures of the
outdoors? If so, you can
showcase your images of
adventure and natural beauty
of public lands in the 2017
Land of Umpqua Amateur
Photo Contest.
Roseburg
District
of
Bureau of Land Management
and Umpqua National Forest
are hosting the photo contest
as part of a multi-agency
exhibit at the 21st annual
Sportsmen’s and Outdoor
Recreation Show to be held
Feb. 17-19, 2017, at the
Douglas
County
Fair-
grounds.
Contestants can enter up to
two photos for each of five
categories:
• People Enjoying Nature
• Flat Smokey in the Photo
(Smokey Bear bookmark
available at offices for
Roseburg District BLM and
Umpqua National Forest)
• Selfies
• Pets in the Woods
• Scenery
Contest Rules:
1. Photos must be taken on,
or of, public lands in
Roseburg District BLM or
Umpqua National Forest
lands within the last two
years.
2. Submit digital images to
blm_or_rb_mail@blm.gov
No hard copies will be
accepted.
3. Photos may be color or
black and white.
4. Photographs may NOT
be enhanced digitally except
for cropping and contrast.
5. Submit up to 2 photos
per category (10 photo maxi-
mum).
Categories: People Enjoy-
ing Nature, Flat Smokey in
the Photo, Selfies, Pets in the
Woods, and Scenery.
6. Please include name,
telephone number, email
address, location, and catego-
ry selected with submission.
7. Photo entries must be
submitted no later than
Monday, January 16, 2017, at
8 a.m.
8. Photos will be voted on
by people attending the 2017
Douglas County Sportsmen’s
Show.
9. Winners will be notified
and posted on the agencies’
websites.
10. The photos become
property of the event organiz-
ers and may be used by the
sponsoring agencies in future
publications, websites or pro-
grams.
11. Agencies reserve the
right to limit the number of
photos displayed for voting
due to space constraints of
the booth.
12. Contest is open to
novice and amateur photogra-
phers.
