Pre-Super Bowl Bingo
Bash to benefit seniors
SEASON
Though the Super Bowl
isn’t until February, tickets for
the Pre-Super Bowl Bingo
Bash are available now.
The event, which will bene-
fit Siuslaw’s 2017 Project
Graduation, will be held
Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Three
Rivers Casino Resort Events
Center.
The Bingo Bash will
include a chance to win more
than $5,000 worth of gifts and
prizes. Coast is $25, which
includes two bingo cards, with
extra cards available for pur-
chase at the door, as well as
food and drinks.
The Bingo Bash is open to
all ages.
Prizes include:
• 7-night stay in Las Vegas
• 3-night weeknd at Sun
River, including dinner

The Community Chorus wrapped up a successful Christmas season with a concert at the Presbyterian Church of
the Siuslaw, drawing full audiences Dec. 10 and 11. The Sunday afternoon concert required extra seating. Chorus
members provided cookies and apple cider during intermissions. Highlights of the concert included perform-
ances by the Presbyterian Bell Choir, the Siuslaw Middle School choir and the Florence Nightingales. There were
several solos by chorus members, including Siuslaw High School sophomore Patrick Rowley. Conductor Jennifer
Weier’s piano solo of “Oh Holy Night” was another special highlight. This season, the Community Chorus also
provided a special performance for residents of Spruce Point Assisted Living. Registration for the spring session
will be Jan. 23, at 6 p.m., at the Cross Road Church on 10th and Maple streets.

on March 10, 11, 12, 2017.
This juried show will
accept art pieces from local,
regional, and international art
quilters. The theme of this
inaugural show will be Gems
of the Ocean.
Quilt entries will be
accepted between Dec. 15,
and Jan. 15, 2017 and will be
decided by Feb. 1, 2017. Final
judging will be made by a 5
person panel of artists and
dignitaries during the show.
All selected entries will be
on display during the Ocean
Artistry Art Quilt show run-

ing to both locals and visitors
to the area,” said Bass.
“We thought the ocean
theme would allow artists to
explore the beauty of this area
and make interpretations
based on their own whimsy,”
she said.
The new art show has
already received financial
support from both the Siletz
Tribal
Charitable
Contribution Fund and the
City of Yachats’ New Event
Fund. “We’re delighted to
bring this type of show to
Yachats.
This will brighten up the
town and we welcome every-
one to experience an art quilt
