Against Harrisburg, Siuslaw had

Richards.
The win was the Lady Viks’ first

most balanced scoring performance.
In addition to Tatum’s team-high
scoring, she also led Siuslaw off the
glass with 12 boards, along with 3
steals and 3 assists.
Long had 5 assists and 5 rebounds
to go with 3 steals and the Lady Viks’
only 3-point shot.
Richards had 8 rebounds and 1 steal.
Siuslaw also had scoring from sen-

At the Army Strong Coast
Classic in North Bend over
the weekend, junior 120-
pounder Ricky Huff had
Siuslaw’s top finish on the
mats after landing fourth at
the 30-team invitational.
Huff defeated Kaleb
Murphy of Grants Pass 15-3
in the quarterfinals, but was
pinned in the semifinals by
top-seeded Legend Lamer of
Crescent Valley.
After pinning Granbt
Hunter of Crater (4:56), Huff
advanced to consolation in
the match for third place.
Huff battled Roseburg’s
Thomas Spence, who eventu-
ally pinned Huff with just 43
second remaining in the third
round.
Siuslaw senior Kainan
Lane went 1-3 Saturday, pin-
ning Kaimana Wa’a of
Crescent Valley in 3:23 dur-
ing the quarterfinals of the
285-pound division.
Unfortunately, Lane was
pinned in each of his next
three matches before finish-
ing sixth overall.

On Sunday, Holiday Bowl played
host to 12 of the best teams in
Siuslaw’s district as the Vikings faced
teams from Marshfield, North Bend,
Springfield, Cottage Grove, Thurston
and others.
After 20 baker games, the Vikings
qualified for the final four with a sec-
ond-place seed coming from the pre-
liminaries. The Vikings defeated
third-seed Cottage Grove in the quar-
terfinals before holding on to beat
Willamette by a mere 4 pins to clench
the tournament title.
“It was a total team effort,” said
Dusty Anderson, who oversees the
program and coaches the girls team.
That same day, the varsity 2 boys
team competed at Reedsport, where it
