N ATIVITY F ESTIVAL
The 11th annual Florence Community
Nativity Festival will be held through
Dec. 4, from 1 to 6 p.m.
The Festival will be located at The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints on the coner of North Fork and
Munsel Lake Roads.
C HRISTMAS BAZAAR
The Women’s Ministry of Faith
Fellowship Foursquare Church, 1624
Highway 101 (next to A&W), will pres-
ent its annual Christmas bazaar from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be one-of-a-kind hand-
crafted gifts include driftwood wall art,
burlap wall hangings, candle holders,
holiday plates, tile coasters, Christmas
decor and more.
Baked goods, decorated and wrapped
for gift-giving, will also be available.
Come anytime between 9 a.m. and 5
p.m. at the Department of Human
Services Office, 3180 Highway 101 in
Florence.
This service is open to the public.
Enrollment for OHP is open year-
round.

SSWCD DINNER , MEETING
The Siuslaw Soil and Water
Conservation District (SSWCD) will
hold its dinner, annual meeting and
board meeting at Driftwood Shores
Resort, 88416 First Ave.
A buffet dinner will begin at 6:30
p.m., followed by the annual meeting at
7:30 p.m. and board meeting at 8:30
p.m. Meetings are free and open to the
public.
Cost of the dinner is $20 per person.

present its Christmas production,
“Angels Alert” at 6 p.m., at the
Florence Christian Church at Second
and Ivy streets
Joyful Noise Childrens Choir is a sea-
sonal choir for children of the commu-
nity, 4 years old through fifth grade.
The event is free and all are invited to
attend.

have a holiday potluck dinner at 5:30
p.m. in the Bromley Room of the
Siuslaw Public Library on Ninth Street.

P EACE H EALTH TOWN HALL
The City of Florence and PeaceHealth
are hosting a second health care Town
Hall as a follow-up to the inaugural
forum in August.
The public is invited and encouraged
to participate in this free event, which
will occur from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at
the Florence Events Center.
Upcoming events
F REE COMMUNITY CONCERT
The Community Chorus of Florence
will be presenting two concerts at the
Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw on
Highway 101.
Directed by Jennifer Weier, the cho-
rus will perform traditional Christmas
songs with presentations by several
smaller ensembles, including the
Florence Nightingales.
Weier will also perform a piano solo,
along with performances by The
Presbyterian Bell Choir and the Siuslaw
Middle School choir.
The concerts will take place Saturday,
Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 11,
at 2 p.m.
Both will be held at the Presbyterian
Church of the Siuslaw, 3996 Highway
101.
Although the concert is free to all, a
donation is requested.

M APLETON L IONS TO SERVE PAN -
CAKE BREAKFAST
On Sunday, Dec. 11, the Mapleton
Lions Club will host its monthly break-
fast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
It will be held at the Mapleton Lions
Club, 88148 Riverview Dr., in
Mapleton.
Menu includes pancakes, sausage,
ham and eggs. Cost is $7 for adults and
$3 for children (age12 and under.)
S ANTA TO VISIT J USTICE C ENTER
The Florence Police Auxiliary will be
helping Santa give toys to local children
when he visits the Florence Justice
Center, Ninth and Kingwood streets, on
Saturday, Dec. 17.
He will hand out gifts to children
between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m.
YAAS S OLSTICE B ONFIRE
The Yachats Academy of Arts and
Sciences (YAAS) is presenting the sev-
enth annual Winter Solstice Celebration
and Bonfire on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 4
p.m. The celebration will take place in
the Picnic Shelter behind the Yachats
Commons.
There will be treats, coffee and hot
chocolate. Bring a log to put p.m. the
bonfire.
The event is free but donations will
be accepted.
