annual Florence Holiday Festival in Old Town on
Saturday. Free activities included hay rides on a vintage
tractor, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and hot cocoa
and warm apple cider. Trumpeter Ron Green set the
mood for the end of the evening — the ceremonial light-
ing of the Christmas tree — with a solo of “Silent Night.”

Siltcoos Lake (above) and Tahkenitch Lake both have water
rights involved in the recent purchase of 427 acres zoned heavy
industrial in Gardiner, Ore., in Douglas County. Tacoma based
Industrial Harbor USA, LLC. acquired the rights to 15 million
gallons of water per day as part of the $3.3 million deal that
closed last week.
