Joyful Noise choir to perform
Joyful Noise Children’s
Choir will present it’s
Christmas production, “Angels
Alert” on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 6
p.m. at the Florence Christian
Church at Second and Ivy.
Joyful Noise Childrens
Choir is a seasonal choir for
children of the community,
ages 4 years through fifth
grade.
The event is free and all are
invited to attend.

Florence two months ago.
Now a member of Backstreet
Gallery and Florence Regional
Arts Alliance (FRAA), Thomas
has also exhibited her work in

Oswego,
Gearhart,
Seaside and Cannon Beach.
She loves walking the beach
where she says, “I am inspired
by the constant changes in the
skies, which reflect on our
beautiful landscape. I feel truly
privileged to live in this com-
munity.”

Backstreet Gallery recent-
ly approved the addition of
its latest member, Susan
Thomas.
Thomas’ vibrant pastels
cover a variety of subject
matter with birds a definite
favorite. Pastels allow her to
show her talent using both
subtle pastel tones and bril-
liant colors to create her
dynamic pieces.
Born in Surrey, England,
Thomas came to the United
States in 1980. In Florida,
she led a graphic arts depart-
ment for an advertising
agency.
After a career in advertis-
ing and marketing, she
moved to Oregon, where she
met the right man. They
married in 1995 and have
one daughter.
Realizing their love for
