65th ANNIVERSARY
Marie and Curt
Kroeger
Marie and Curt Kroeger
then and now
Marie and Curt Kroeger
of Florence will celebrate 65
years of marriage Nov. 18,
2016.
Their story began in 1950,
when Curt was delivering ice
cream to a Rexall Drug store
in WaKeeney, Kan., where
they had a soda fountain.
There was a very pretty
blonde girl, whose name was
Marie, working at the drug
store. While delivering to a
grocery store up the street, a
conversation ensued between
Curt and a young man work-
ing at the grocery store.
The young man bet Curt
$5 that he, Curt, could not get
a date with that pretty blonde
Marie.
Marie and Curt were mar-
ried Nov. 18, 1951, in
WaKeeney, Kan., and the rest
is history.
By the way, Curt says he
collected the $5 bet — how-
ever it has cost him many
many dollars more.
But it was money well
spent.
