WLCF 2016 grant applications being accepted

(WLCF) has ann-
This year, the Community
Chorus of Florence will be
presenting two concerts.
Directed by Jennifer Weier,
the chorus will perform tradi-
tional Christmas songs with
presentations by several small-
er ensembles, including the
Florence Nightingales, along
with a piano solo by Weier,
and performances by the
Presbyterian Bell Choir and
the Siuslaw Middle School
Choir.
The concert will take place
Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.
and again Sunday, Dec. 11, at
2 p.m., at the Presbyterian
Church of the Siuslaw, 3996,
Highway 101 in Florence.
Although the concert is free
to all, a donation is requested.

grant cycle.
Grants are awarded to
local nonprofit organizations
for projects and programs in
the areas of education, medi-
cine and science, the arts and
social and civic services.
Money given each year
varies. However, in February
of 2016, the grant program
distributed
more
than
$71,000 to 39 nonprofit
recipients covering most of
western Lane County.

PeaceHealth to host career open house for MAs, LPNs

Medical Assistant (MA) or
Licensed Practical Nurse
(LPN).

are looking to make a career

Pioneer Pacific College and
Lane Community College will
be onsite working with atten-
dees individually to discuss
career options and opportuni-
ties at PeaceHealth.
WorkSource Oregon — the
state’s public workforce system
— will be available to discuss
financial assistance options for
education or recertification.
