Reclassification on horizon for Vikings
Two models, based on new 6A or 5A

the OSAA with the intent of starting
the new redistricting by the 2018-19
school year.
Should the OSAA move forward
with a six-classification system,
Siuslaw would move into a seven-
school Far West League district with

Depending on which proposal the
Oregon School Activities Association
(OSAA) goes with for the 2018-2022
school years, Siuslaw could taking on
Cottage Grove, Creswell and Elmira,
with Marshfield, North Bend and
South Umpqua departing to a different
classification.
Sutherlin.
North Bend and Marshfield would
move into the 5A division and the
Southern Oregon League along with
Ashland, Crater, Eagle Point,
Springfield and Thurston.
South Umpqua would move to the
4A Skyline League and join Henley,
Hidden Valley, Klamath Union,
Mazama, North Valley and Phoenix.
Should the OSAA decide on a five-
classification system, the Vikings
would shift to a six-school 3A league
called
the
Mountain
Valley
Conference.
In it, Siuslaw would compete with
Brookings-Harbor, Creswell, Douglas,
Pleasant Hill and Sutherlin.

Randal is a lovely 7 yr old
kitty who came into our
shelter when he was 2
months old. Randal is a
quiet boy who likes affec-
tion and loves treats. He is
sight impaired in one eye.
He would do best in a calm
house with no dogs or small
children because of his vi-
sion. Come visit this sweet boy at the shelter today.
Chyna & Chit Chat
Pictured left to right
are two sisters,
Chyna and Chit-
chat. They are not
a bonded pair and
could be adopted
separately. Chyna
is a little more social
with people than her sister and both would love a calm
home. They are also great with other kitties. These
amazing girls are 4 1/2 years old and were brought
into the shelter when they were kittens.
