P RESBYTERIAN B AZAAR TO BE HELD
L IGHTEN UP ON E LECTION N IGHT
The Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw will
hold its annual Fall Church Bazaar from 9 a.m.
to 1 p.m. High-quality homemade craft items,
including sewn, quilted, woven, knitted, cro-
cheted and carved wood items will be available,
along with a wide variety of baked goods, jams,
jellies and candy, Christmas decorations and
‘white elephant” items.
The church is located at 3996 Highway 101
North in Florence.
L ADY E LKS HOSTING ACESSORY PARTY ,
FUNDRAISER
The Ladies’ PEO Chapter DY will be hosting
an Accessories Party to help fund scholarships
for women. The party will be held at ocean
Dunes Golf Links clubhouse from 4 to 7 p.m.
Come for jewelry, scarves, hats, purses and a
no-host bar.

C OUNTRY S TORE TO FUND MISSION PROJ -
ECTS
The women of the Florence United Methodist
Church will hold their annual Country Store and
Luncheon from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The store will
feature baked goods, homemade jam, jelly and
candy, as well as crafts and gift baskets. There
will also be antiques and collectables, Rada cut-
lery and more.
Lunch of homemade bread, soup, pie and
beverages will be available between 11 a.m. and
1 p.m.
Proceeds benefit local mission projects for
women, children and youth.

The Siuslaw Soil and Water Conservation
District (SSWCD) will hold its monthly sched-
uled board meeting at the district office, 1775
Laurel Place, Ste #4, in Florence, at 6:30 p.m.

Tired of politics as usual? Have fun with
PFLAG at its regular meeting for election night
starting at 6:30 p.m. in Room 158 at Lane
Community College-Florence with humorous
video shorts.
The group will be watching some classics,
such as “We will marry your boyfriend/girl-
friend,” two light-hearted shorts produced ahead
of the Marriage Equality issue. There will also
be classic comedy bits, cartoons and more.
If you’re experiencing election fatigue, we’ve
got just the remedy.
As always, the meeting is free and open to
the public and refreshments will be served.

the organization nationally and regionally, and
get a look at the free resources PFLAG makes
available at every meeting.

The Us TOO Florence Prostate Cancer
Education/Support Group will meet at the
Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw from 5 to 7
p.m.
Urologist Bryan Mehlhaff will be present to
provide the latest prostate cancer news and
answer questions.
Prostate cancer survivors and their
spouses/loved ones will also be present to share
their personal prostate cancer experiences.

Florence Garden Club will be “Taking flight
with Birds of the Refuge” beginning at 1 p.m. at
the Presbyterian Church of the Siuslaw, 3996
Highway 101 N.
Shawn Stephensen will bring information on
birds of the Oregon coast National Wildlife
Refuge.
The rocky islands and sheer cliffs provide
isolated breeding and resting habitat for diverse
communities of birds. The Oregon Islands
National Wildlife Refuge is celebrated for its
abundant wildlife and rugged grandeur.
The public is invited to the meeting.

L EARN ABOUT HEALTH SERIVCES
From 4:30 to 6 p.m., Siuslaw Vision Keepers
Health and Human Services Committee will
host an open meeting to discuss current gaps in
healthcare services in the community.
The meeting will encourage community
members to look at positive ways we can work
with medical providers in a variety of areas,
including primary care providers, dental care,
mental health and uninsured individuals.
The meeting will be held in the Bromley
Room of the Siuslaw Public Library.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
M ASTER R ECYCLERS MEETING
The Florence Master Recyclers will meet at
5:30 p.m. at the Port of Siuslaw Conference
Room, 100 Harbor St., next to the campground.
The agenda will include the Durable Dishware
program, recruitment for the Master Recycler
Class in Florence this winter, December potluck
and a short video on recycling.
Florence Master Recycler meetings are held
the second Thursday of the month and open to
the public.

Siuslaw High School will be the site of a
Blood Drive for the American Red Cross, organ-
ized by Siuslaw High School senior Destinie

C ABARET TO FEATURE L OVEJOY
At the November Starlight Cabaret, Jeff
Lovejoy will be playing his fifth mini-concert on
Wednesday, Nov. 16.
Lovejoy lived and played in bands and other
musical combos for years on the East Coast until
he and his wife moved to Florence in mid-2015.
He recently played a couple of Grab Bag ses-
sions for KXCR Radio, 90.7 FM.
For his Cabaret performances, he promises
some new tunes as always, a few surprises and
much to sing along with.
Doors open at 6 p.m. Music begins at 6:30
p.m. at Florence Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship (FUUF), at Highway 101 and Heceta
Beach Road.
Tea and coffee will be provided. The event is
free to the public, but donations are always
appreciated.
