September 1990 and decided after a 3 day
visit to relocate from the Oakland/San
Francisco Bay Area with her family. She has

I was born in Vernonia, Ore., and moved
to Roseburg when I was 4. I attended school
there, including two years at Umpqua
Community College, before receiving a degree
in marketing/business with a minor in psychol-
ogy at Oregon State University. When I was
25, my partner and I purchased the
Gingerbread Village restaurant in Mapleton. In
1984, we also bought the Windward Inn in
Florence. After four years, I left the Windward
Inn in 1988 and solely focused on running the
Gingerbread restaurant until 2004. After 25
years in the restaurant industry, I decided it

The Chicken Coop
Tim and I arrived in Florence in
August of 1974 after receiving
degrees at Oregon State University.
I retired from teaching after 32
years and in 2009 wanted a job
with a ‘lunch hour’
I thought it would be fun to have
a business, so I founded “The
Chicken Coop on Maple”. My
store has unique artwork, and of
course, chickens and roosters!!

moved to Oregon in 1988. Feeling
a bit landlocked in Roseburg, my
husband and I moved to Florence in
1994 because of the dunes, lakes,
rivers and ocean. Aren’t we all for-
tunate to live in such a beautiful
place? I’ve been licensed since
1999 focusing primarily on senior
products and employee benefits.

Dr. Sarah Rincker is a native of Effingham,
Illinois. She completed her medical school at
Des Moines University of Foot and Ankle
Surgery in Iowa where she graduated
Valedictorian of her class. While there, she
received multiple awards and scholarships. Dr.
Rincker then went on to three years of Foot and
Ankle Surgical Residency Training at one of the
top programs in the country, Grant Medical
Center, in Columbus, OH.
Dr. Rincker treats her patients like family
and strives to educate so that a team approach
can be made to provide the best treatment for
each patient’s individual circumstance.
In her spare time, Dr. Rincker enjoys spend-
ing time with her husband. She will take any
excuse to get outside, including fishing, kayak-
ing, or playing fetch with her two dogs. She is very happy to be a member of
such a wonderful community.

fall of 2014 and is happily celebrating her 2

downtown North Bend, serving Florence,
Reedsport and the Coos Bay area. She has trans-
formed the space into a comfortable, unique

tage styles. She’s giving a fresh update and new
approach to flowers, plants and driftwood floral

old brick and mortar flower shop you grew up
