for Wednesday’s meeting of the
Republican Club of Florence.
More than 60 people packed
the Bromley room as candi-
dates spoke, followed by a
question and answer session.
Attendees took home lawn
signs, bumper stickers and but-
tons. Additional signs and
stickers are available at Old
Cedar Tree Woodworking in
Florence for those who could-
n’t attend the meeting.
A life-sized standing poster
of Donald Trump was intor-
duced as the special guest.
There is speculation that
Trump will be visiting Oregon

known Florence artist John
Leasure through the month of
August.
Originally from southern
California, Leasure has lived in
Florence for the past 35 years,
owning West Coast Cabinets.
For the past 24 years, Leasure
has taught oil painting classes
in Florence and Eugene.
His work can be viewed at
the Florence Regional Arts
Alliance (FRAA) Gallery and
Art Center, 121 Maple St.,
where he serves on the FRAA
board and teaches oil painting
classes on Saturday mornings.
