Members of Oregon Pacific Bank (OPB) and Florence Regional Arts Alliance (FRAA) presents a check to artist
Colleen Goodwin-Chronister (fifth from left) after the installation of her art at OPB.
Oregon Pacific Bank (OPB),
in collaboration with the
Florence
Regional
Arts
Alliance (FRAA), is thrilled to
announce the installation of
“Positively Florence” by
Colleen Goodwin-Chronister
in the bank’s Florence branch
at 1355 Highway 101.
The triptych painted on can-
vas depicts three scenes of
Florence’s Historic Old Town
and has been purchased by the
bank as a permanent installa-
tion.
Goodwin-Chronister is a
local Florence artist who spe-
cializes in contemporary real-
ism with highly detailed oil
paintings. She has earned pres-
tigious awards in juried shows
throughout the country and is
equally at ease creating paint-
ings in her studio as well as
large-scale exterior murals.
This project was the result of
a “Call to Artists” facilitated by
FRAA in partnership with OPB
back in May of this year. The
judges from FRAA selected the
finalists from all entries sub-
mitted and representatives
from OPB decided the overall
winner.
The chosen work was com-
pleted and installed on the Aug.
8 deadline.
“Working in partnership
with FRAA was fantastic,”
says
Ellen
Huntingdon,
Marketing Coordinator at
Oregon Pacific Bank, who
originally contacted FRAA and
oversaw the project. “The
entire process from start to fin-
ish was well organized and
extremely professional.
“I would highly recommend
contacting FRAA for assis-
tance if there is any interest in
adding quality local artwork to
your place of business.”
Huntingdon also said she
was very impressed with
Goodwin-Chronister, who was
able to “...perfectly render the
exact design from her submit-
ted proposal on a large scale in
a timely and professional man-
ner,” Huntingdon says. “We are
already hearing positive feed-
back from clients and staff, and
are thrilled to own such a beau-
tiful and unique piece of
work.”
The community is invited to
stop by Oregon Pacific Bank’s
Florence branch any time to
view the artwork.
The branch is open Monday
through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6
p.m.. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on
Saturday.

Bank at 541-997-7121 or the

Transportation (ODOT) con-
tinues several road projects on
highways in western Lane
County. To view road condi-
tions before a trip, go to

ODOT is paving the 17
miles from Cooks Chasm to

Crews are also adjusting and
replacing guardrails. Traffic
will be controlled by flaggers
and pilot car and daytime
delays of up to 20 minutes are
expected. The job is scheduled
to be completed by mid-
September.
The Siuslaw River Bridge
Cathodic Protection Project
continues, mileposts 190 to

crews are making repairs to
the existing concrete and rein-
forcement, giving a new pro-
tective coating to the bridge,
adding seismic restraints,
replacing the rail and improv-
ing pedestrian access. This
project will be completed in
March 2019.
Single lane closures will be
used for materials transfers,
bridge rail and other roadwork
on the approaches to the
bridge. Delays may be up to
20 minutes but will normally
be five minutes or less. The
job is to be completed by the
end of March 2019.
On Highway 126, ODOT is
replacing a bridge membrane
just west of Veneta. The proj-
ect, from Torrence Road to
Cornerstone Drive, mileposts
40 to 47, will include seven
miles of paving, adjusting
guardrails and bridgework.
This will mostly be done with
nightwork Sundays through
Thursdays, 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.,
with intermittent lane clo-
sures.The project is scheduled
to be completed by the end of
October 2016.
