The Teen Center, 1601 15th
St., which reopened last
September after having been
closed for nine months, has
seen a 400 percent increase in
membership last school year.
“Given the growth trend we
are seeing, especially with all
the fifth graders coming in to
the Teen Center, I think we will
start the school year with over
50 students, compared to nine
last year when we reopened the
Teen Center,” Trent said.
“On behalf of the board, I want
to say thank you to our commu-
nity that has been phenomenal in
their support and encourage-
ment,” Trent said. “When I look
back a year ago, it took a lot of
faith for many of the people to
stand behind us, considering
where we were at the time.”
