nity partner, Relay For Life is
a part of their company cul-

here), and they continue to be
one of the top fundraising
teams for Florence.

Newsies are once again

a row. The team is made up of Siuslaw News
employees and their families and friends. They
honor their own that have fought the fight
against cancer and won. They remember the
few that lost their battle but live on in their
memories.
Despicable Cancer, Incredible Me!
Ladies of the Elks
Our team represents the Ladies of Elks, an
auxiliary of Florence Elks Lodge 1858.
Several of our members are cancer survivors
and we have lost some of our members and
spouses to cancer. The lodge had a team last
year, but planners thought it would be nice for
the Ladies of Elks to have their own team. We
are proud of the number of ladies who have
signed up to walk. This will be our first year
as a team.
Love Connections
Team Love Connection is sponsored by Ada
Grange #570. Some of the team has been
relaying since the second year and the grange
started a team in the third year. This year they
have six survivors on the team. They relay for
their family, friends, themselves and everyone
PeaceHealthies
A community of caregivers from the hospital,
clinic and business offices, this team is dedicat-
ed to increasing awareness about this life-threat-
ening disease, providing a voice for those who
have fought and are still fighting, and support
for those working on a cure. They care!
Team Doud
The name of our team is
Team Doud. We represent
friends and loved ones of Ernie
Doud, a leukemia victim who
died June 9, 2016. He wanted
to walk himself, but it just did-
n’t work out. Ernie was much
loved by many people. We are a new team for
this year but hope to carry on in the future.
Let’s get rid of this horrible disease, every-
one!

This group from Reedsport is looking for-
ward to raising funds and walking in the 17th
annual Relay For Life.
The Wonder Women are glad to be back for
another year with Relay For Life of Florence.
The team is made up of “wonder women” in
the Florence area.
