The fee to participate is $20. An ad for the Community Wide Garage Sale with a map of
all participating sales will be published in the Siuslaw News on September 7th and 10th.
Because of print deadlines, the registration deadline is 5pm August 30 2016.

You will also receive two offi cial Community Wide Garage Sale signs as well as a tip
sheet on how to have a great sale. Please post signs only on private property with the
owner’s consent. Posting signs on City utility poles, street or signal light poles, and
median strips is against the municipal code.

This free summer concert

PPP is a tax-exempt organ-
ization that supports and pro-
motes music, dance perform-
ances and art exhibitions in
the Yachats area.
Free dental clinic comes ‘From the Heart’
From the Heart Dentistry is
a non-profit subsidiary of
Korando Dental Group. For 30
years, From the Heart
Dentistry has changed lives
through free dental care for
those who need it most, but
who just can’t afford it.
This year’s event takes
place Thursday, Aug. 25, from
8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Korando
Dental Clinic, 1705 22nd St.
in Florence.
Each year 40 to 50 patients
can have a thorough cleaning,
extraction or certain other
repairs done at no cost to them.
These patients are typically
uninsured, un- or under-
employed and/or homeless
men and women in the com-
munity.

DANIEL
CLEMENTS (DAN)
Friends of Florence
Dan Clements stepped forward
in August of 2000 and volunteered
to drive for the Friends of
Florence, an organization that
provides free transportation for
cancer patients for the Florence
are to and from the Willamette
Valley, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a
year since 1985.
As of August 30, 2015. Dan
had driven 27,536 miles. He has
driven the second most miles
of any driver since 1985. h e
friends of l orence has provided
over 1.25 million free miles of
transportation since its inception.
Dan was appointed to the Board of Directors
on September of 2008 and assumed the position
of Secretary of the board. Upon the death of our
founder, P.T. Smith, on October 6, 2011 Dan was
appointed to the role of Chief Operating Oi cer

(COO) and took over the responsibility of the day
to day operations which he continues today.
Dan has been a very valuable part of the success
of the Friends of Florence. He just turned 80 years
young and says he has no plans of retirement from
being COO.
