City of Florence and City
Recorder Kelli Weese invite
eligible citizens to run for
mayor and two positions on the
Florence City Council during
the November election cycle.
Positions held by Mayor Joe
Henry and councilors Joshua
Greene and Ron Preisler will
be up for re-election. All three
plan to run for their current
positions again.
Any qualified elector who is
registered to vote in the City of
Florence and has resided in the
city since Nov. 8, 2015, is eligi-
ble to run for the two four-year
councilor positions and the
mayor’s two-year position.
The city council is the gov-
erning body of the city, with the
mayor as its leader.
Weese encourages qualified
citizens to run for an office. She
is available by appointment to
meet with people to give more
information and to go over
requirements.
To apply, complete a filing
packet by Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Pamela Cusic
born April 1,
1952, in McMinnville, Ore., to
Eldon and Norma Davis. She
graduated from Coquille High
School in 1970.
Pam and Dana moved to
Florence in 1979, working as a
tax consultant until she retired
earlier this year.
Pam loved her family more
than anything and was exceed-
ingly proud of her sons. Pam
and Dana enjoyed traveling
and camping together on the
Oregon coast and spending
time with her grandkids.
Pam is survived by her hus-
band, Dana; her two sons and
daughters-in-law, Joey (Joy)
and Bob (Jennifer); her three
grandchildren: Jason, Anna,
and Jackson; plus a bonus,
Allan Waite; her two brothers,
Mike and Bill Davis; two sis-
