owntown Revitalization Team’s floral baskets are full-to-bursting in Historic Old
Town. City of Florence Public Works installed the baskets in April. “They’re still
growing,” spokesman David Wiegan said. The team, sponsors, Public Works and
local officials, who gathered last Wednesday to view the baskets’ progress, are encouraged
by the success of the project. Sponsor Mary Kadel said, “I think they’re beautiful. It’s a
wonderful, friendly feeling to walk along here and see these baskets.”
