Special thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors, and supporters
of the Historic Old Town l ower basket project. Th e Downtown
Revitalization Team, a committee of the Florence Area Chamber
of Commerce, started work on this project well over one year ago.
Th e l ower basket project is a collaboration involving the Chamber,
Florence Urban Renewal Agency (FURA), City of Florence
Public Works, and private individuals/businesses. Th e Downtown
Revitalization Team coordinated the project; the Chamber is
funding the watering and maintenance which is provided by the
City of Florence Public Works; FURA provided funds for the
brackets on the streetlights; and the 45 baskets were sponsored by
private individuals and businesses. Th ese very large baskets were
selected at er seeing them in a neighboring city last year, and they
are expected to be unusually large and beautiful until fall.
