receives the distinguished title

performance and achieve-
ments.
During this quarter, Coulter
displayed notable accomplish-
ments that earned him the dis-
tinguished award.

history easier and more acces-
sible than ever before.
Kevin Mittge, adult servic-
es librarian at Siuslaw Public
Library, will discuss the cur-
rent state of genealogy at the
Florence City Club meeting
Friday, June 3, at noon at
Driftwood Shores, 88416

the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
Mittge, a native of
Kirkland, Wash., received his
Master of Librarianship from
the University of Washington
and has worked at the Siuslaw
Public Library since 2000. He
has been researching his fam-
ily history since his teens,
written a family history of his
Oregon Trail ancestors and
traveled widely in search of
relatives.
As a tribute to all of the brave men and women
who have fallen in service to the United States,
I encourage everyone to connect with our local
VA centers where there is always a great need for
volunteers. h ere is so much we can do to show
our appreciation to our veterans – or just lend a
helping hand – right here on the Oregon Coast!
