Parade prepares to cast off fun for
Sunday’s Grand Floral Parade begins at 27th Street and ends in Old Town

Rhododendron Festival
Grand Floral Parade on Sunday,
May 21. Look for businesses with
decorated windows along the
parade route and throughout
Florence.
Grand Marshal Wilbur Ternyik
will lead the parade at noon as it
runs from 27th Street onto and
down Highway 101 to Kingwood
Street at the local Dairy Queen,
down to Bay Street and through his-
toric Old Town Florence to end on
Quince Street.
More than 400 marchers and
dozens of floats plan to participate.
There will also be equestrian teams,
classic cars, bands and a special
float for the 2016 Rhododendron
Court.

you join the crowds watching the
parade for the 109th year of
Florence’s Rhododendron Days.
There is plenty of prime space
along the way to place your chairs
and cheer for your favorite float.
For participants, staging is at 10
a.m. at 27th and Oak streets (see
info packets for specific locations).

All entries are welcome for
the annual Junior Parade on
Saturday, May 21. Staging will
be at Miller Park at 11 a.m. No
pre-registration is necessary.
The parade begins at noon
and runs up Oak Street from
19th to 30th streets.
Immediately after the parade,
the Florence Kiwanis Club
hosts the annual Kids Games at
the Siuslaw High School ball
field at Oak and 27th streets.
There will be games and
activities with prizes and snacks
for all young participants, 10
years old and younger.
