After growing up in Corvallis and completing my formal education at Oregon State University, I
moved to Florence to take the opportunity to manage the local Sprouse Reitz store. It was in Florence
that I met my wife Jana. We have two wonderful children, two grandchildren, two dogs, many cats
and a bird.
Currently I work as a Commercial Relationship Manager with Oregon Pacific Bank. Ive been with the
bank since 1998. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, running, golf and bowling.
I began working with Western Lane Ambulance several years ago, first serving as a budget
committee member. For the last 11 years I have served on the board of directors for the district. I also
fill a seat for the District on the Florence Urban Renewal Committee.
Since moving here, I have had the opportunity to witness tremendous growth in the Florence area. I
continue to see what the future holds for our community.

I’m “home grown”, born and raised in Florence. My wife, Debbie, and I have been married for 36 years.
We have raised two daughters, Kady and Hope and we have one granddaughter, Olive. Debbie and I
enjoy going to the beach in all kinds of weather, along with working around our home in Dunes City.
Professionally I am the news director at Coast Broadcasting, KCST and KCFM where I’ve been a full
time staff member since 2001. I have also hosted the monthly program “Our Town” (originally called
Community Forum) since 1998.
My connection with emergency services come from a lifelong involvement in local fire fighting. My
Dad, Blair Sneddon, joined the volunteer Fire Department in 1957 (the year I was born). I also joined,
in 1977, and served along with my older brother Tom and younger brother Mick. I completed 27 years
as a volunteer firefighter in 2004 as a volunteer Battalion Chief with Siuslaw Valley Fire and Rescue.
Married to Jack 58 years, 3 children, Bill, Jim and Laura, and 9 grandchildren.
Jack has lived in this area all his life. I moved to Mapleton in 1950, graduated
in 1956. I worked in the Siuslaw School District 25 years as a teaching aide.
I worked at the Siuslaw News 6 years. My hobby is Sole painting. I have
taught painting for 20 years. I will have put on 42nd Christmas Bazaars
in the Florence area. I have been on budget committee at Heceta Water
District. I have been on WLA Board for 19 years. Which has been a rewarding
journey. I am now on budget committee for SVFR.

Retired from the fire service in 2013. Went back to work as
a part-time consultant with Special Districts Association
of Oregon 2013 to present. Married for 30 years to my
wife Linda, with two grown sons who work and live in the
Portland area. Love the outdoors and enjoy cycling, hunting
and fishing. My wife and I have thoroughly enjoyed the
people and beauty of the Florence area.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve the
citizens of this district and being able to make a
positive difference in their lives.
I love living on the river in Mapleton. I enjoy my roses,
gardening and my animals. I am involved with the Lions
Club in Mapleton and am proud to be of service to my
community.

20 Years this year (2 part time, and 18 full time).
I have been happily married 23 years to my wife Therese have two daughters Gyllian 14 and
Genevieve 17. In my free time, I teach and have taught, the paramedic labs at Lane Community
College for the past 15 years. Also, I am actively involved with South Willamette Honor Flight as a
volunteer which takes war time veterans to Washington DC to visit their memorials and monuments.
I will be going on my 7th and 8th trips in May and October this year. Please check out this very worth
program www.swvhonorflight.com. Last year, I started volunteering for a drum and bugle corps, The
Blue Devils from Concord California. This is a world class organization I marched with in my youth,
and now I am a part of their Health and Wellness team. I provide CPR and first aid training for their
staff, and touring with them in the summer with them as a medic for the 150 young adult members
and staff. I feel so blessed to have found a career I love, in a town that appreciates and supports
quality Emergency Medicine. Honestly, I don’t know if the community realizes the quality of service
that have and support. You all should be extremely proud of your Emergency Medical Services.

I have been in the area since 1983. I started part-time with WLAD in
2004 as a basic and worked my way though the ranks and medical
levels to become a critical paramedic. WLAD is an awesome
company to work for, we are one of three in the state that is known
as a special district. We have 9 critical care paramedics. So it is an
honor to work a WLAD. I enjoy my family and friends on my days off
and have lots of hobbies to have fun. I am married to an awesome
lady and we have 2 wonderful children and 5 grand babies.
