On Saturday, May 21, during
Rhody Weekend, enjoy live
outdoor music on the Rock
Truck and fresh local beer from
the Rusty Truck during
Homegrown’s
Rhody
Underground.
Things will start at 3 p.m.
with some Bollywood Fusion
dancing. Bollywood Fusion, a
very colorful, exuberant and
aerobic dance, is based on
Bollywood films from India.
The music is an upbeat combo
of belly dance, modern jazz
and Hindi folk dance.
At 4 p.m., local favorite
Speaker Wave will be be on the
Rock Truck.
Speaker Wave is an Oregon
coast-based rock trio com-
prised of musicians Kevin
Wolpoff (lead guitar and
vocals) Jeremy Scott Anderson
(bass, keyboards, cornet and
vocals) and Vince Hendricks-
Davis (drums).
Their musical style is largely
rock influenced but draws from
60s psychedelia, 70s funk, reg-
gae, jazz and soul. Their inter-
mingling influences, laid back
west-coast vibe and occasional
coastal inspired lyrics, urged
them to coin the term “Jam
Surf Rock” to describe their
music style.
With Speaker Wave, prepare
for high-energy, danceable
show that gets you up and
keeps you up.
Next, 100 Watt Mind from
Ashland, Ore., will take to the
Rock Truck stage. What makes
100 Watt work is that they’ve
created a sound all their own.
At the same time, rock music
lovers of all ages can enjoy the
music played from the 60s to
2010s.
During all the music, enjoy a
beer poured from the Rusty
Truck Brewing from 11 a.m. to
8 p.m. The Lincoln City-based
brewery use only the best pos-
sible natural ingredients and
old fashioned hands-on brew-
ing methods to make small
batches of unique, distinctive
and great tasting brews.
Homegrown is at 294 Laurel St
