Prichard, 94, of Florence,
returned to
the loving
arms of her
Lord and
Savior on
March 28,
2016, in

fort of her
own home.
Marieta
She was
Prichard
born Sept.
7, 1921, to Peary and Nola
Hoyt, in Newton, Iowa, where
she grew up and graduated
from high school.
She was married to L.A.
“Shagg” Prichard for 58 years.
They moved to Florence in
1981 to be close to their grand-
children.
She was a faithful member
of the Florence Christian
Church, and beloved by all
who had the pleasure of know-
ing her.She made regular visits
to shut-ins until she could no
longer do so. She enjoyed
studying her Bible, reading,
sewing and gardening.
She was a resourceful home-
maker, knew how to make a
dollar stretch to its limits, and
was a wonderful wife and
mother. She was trained as a
Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was an active Senior
Girl Scout leader and enjoyed
hiking, backpacking and camp-
ing along the Skyline Trail and
other locations.
In later years she hiked and
picnicked with the Wonder
Seekers. Now she is hiking the
trails of heaven and marveling
at the wonders there with her
family and friends, including
her three brothers: Doyle,
Myrle and Peary Hoyt Jr., and
their wives.

greet those she left behind,
including her son, Michael
Prichard of Laramie, Wyo.; her

Florence; grandson Daniel
McCorkle and his wife, Lorri;

EVANS—John
“Bud”
Evans Jr., 88, of Florence,
passed away
April
21,
2016.
Bud was
born May
26, 1927, to
John
and
Charlet
Evans, in
Cleveland,
John Evans
Ohio.
He soon became “Buddy” to
John Sr. They had wonderful
times together with fishing and
hunting.
At age 17, Bud left school to
join the Navy. He went to boot-
camp, returned to get his diplo-
ma there after returning to
active duty on a transport near
the finish of the war.
After the war finished, Bud
began his adventures in the
work forces. He worked on a
ranch as a cowboy, then the
ranch facility at Pomona
College and other small jobs.
He decided to marry Dorothy
Lupy in 1950.
Then married life began.
They had children John III,
Kathleen and Jeff while Bud
was a Covina policeman and
later an L.A. Deputy Sheriff,
until a heart attack put him out
of commission with a retire-
ment.
He became an Insurance
company owner, health food
store owner, did house sales
and house building.
Eventually,
Bud
and
Dorothy divorced.
It was a new job for Bud and
later a new wife, who brought
two boys. They bought and
sold a few houses until they
built their own ranch home.
They had horses, a few cattle
and small groups of llama dur-
ing the winter. Suddenly, his
wife became ill and died in just
61 days.
Bud always hated to be
alone. He remembered Jackie,
whose husband had died
recently. They were married in
1991. He retired, they bought
an RV and began traveling and
having fun. They bought two
houses in Bend then moved to
Florence and lived in two more
houses.
What a wonderful life Bud
had.
The funeral will be held
Friday, April 29, at 11 a.m., at
St. Mary’s Catholic Church,
south of Florence. Refresh-
ments will be served afterward
at his home on Rosemary Court.
