Oliver, meanwhile, landed a

out of 26 athletes competing in

The invitational brought
athletes from a total of 17
schools to compete in the
multi-divisional, non-scoring
meet, offering competitors to
match up against the region’s
best.
Senior multi-event athlete
Mikaela Siegel finished the
day with three top-10 finishes,
beginning with second place in
the 100-meter hurdles (16.21).
Siegel also placed fifth in the
triple jump (33 feet, 4 inches)
and was ninth in the long jump
(15 feet, 6.5 inches).
Siegel was joined by junior
jumper Annmarie Precht in the
long jump, where Precht land-
ed third with a leap of 17 feet.
The junior also placed fourth
in the 200 meters (21.51).
Two other juniors had top-
10 marks at the meet, includ-

struggled against that last year,”
said O’Mara. “Hopefully, get-
ting a look at it this early will
help prepare us for when we host
Marshfield later in the season,
when chances are things will

was sixth in the 100-meter
hurdles (17.65); and Abby
Watkins, who landed sixth in
the long jump (16 feet,1 inch).
For the boys, freshman
Murray Bingham ran the 1,500
meters in 4:15 to finish sev-
enth, and junior Jack Pickell
placed 12th in the 3,000
meters in 9:39.21.
Yesterday, the Vikings were
in Coos Bay for the
Prefontaine Classic Far West
League meet (after press dead-
lines).
Saturday, Siuslaw will com-
pete in the Oregon Relays at
Hayward Field in Eugene,
beginning at 11 a.m.
going 3-for-6 against the Pirates.
Heading into yesterday’s
schedule (after press deadlines),
Siuslaw and Brookings were
both 0-2 after being swept on
Friday, with the Bruins topped
by Douglas. Yesterday’s single-
game matchup brought the
Vikings and Bruins together at
Siuslaw.
Friday, the Lady Viks will
host the next round of league
play when the Trojans (2-0)
come to Siuslaw for a double-
header.
First pitch is at 3 p.m., fol-
lowed by the nightcap.
Next week, the Vikings will
be on the road at North Bend and
South Umpqua.

Far West, with all six teams going 1-1 dur-

Yesterday, Siuslaw was on the road at
Brookings (after press deadlines).
Friday, the Vikings will be on the road
again, taking on the Trojans at Douglas in
a doubleheader that begins at 3 p.m.
Next week, Siuslaw will host games on
Tuesday and Friday, beginning with North
Bend on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
