Laurel Bay Gardens
Come spend an
‘afternoon in Paris’
at patio display
ome stroll through Laurel Bay
Garden’s “Marche de Jardin,” our
French garden market, at this
year’s Home and Garden Show. There
you will find yourself surrounded by fresh
flowers, unique foods, trendsetting décor,
delightful gifts and design ideas for any
size yard, patio, or deck.
Tempt your taste buds by sampling frog
balls (pickled Brussels sprouts). You can
also try Laurel Bay’s wonderful selection
of Oregon coast jams, jellies and local
honey. The market will also offer soaps,
candles, and other unique décor suitable
for indoor or outdoor use, or as gifts.
“An Afternoon in Paris” patio will be
part of Laurel Bay’s large indoor exhibit, com-
plete with pavers and potted planters showcas-
ing the many different types of container gar-
dening suitable for even the smallest patios.
The market will also be filled with new lines
of garden planters, tools, and fertilizers to help
you put the “Oh!” in your organic garden and
garden designs.
Glass globes and planters from Syndicate
Garden, along with “living wall” planters in
metal and clay, will showcase how you can use
herbs, spices, air plants, and succulents to add
beauty to your indoor décor.
Colorful racks of flowers, vegetable and herb
starts, dahlias, and bulbs await local gardeners
for a bountiful harvest this summer. Bare root
fruit trees, blueberry plants, and organic seed
potatoes will be available at discounted Home
and Garden Show prices.
Laurel Bay’s new storefront, Oregon Coast
Pottery, will feature the newest in outdoor and
indoor pottery for your home and garden.
“We’ve expanded our nursery to add both
classic and vibrant colors and shaped pottery for
our customers to choose from,” says Lisa
Walter-Sedlacek, landscape designer at Laurel
Bay Gardens. “We will feature plantings with
the latest in colorful arrangements-for sunny or
shady patios-designed by our talented floral
design staff at the nursery.”
Laurel Bay Gardens will be outdoors again
this year to welcome visitors into the 2016
Home and Garden Show.

“Outside, we will feature
“upcycling,” demonstrating
how you can use wooden pal-
lets as planters for your yard,”
says “Bamboo Dave” Sedlacek
of Laurel Bay Gardens. “You
can grow vegetables, flowers,
even herbs in these planters.
Their rustic look enhances any
garden decor.”
Laurel Bay’s outdoor exhibit
will also feature some of the
new plants for landscaping,
along with more than 50 vari-
eties of rhododendrons and
azaleas, perfect for adding
spring color to your yard.
“Don’t forget to check out
our featured line of custom-
blended organic soils and
amendments, as well as bagged
products from Gardner and
Bloome, all available for great
Home Show prices,” adds
Dave.
“And be sure to stop by the
booth to sign up to win a $25
gift certificate,” adds Lisa.
“There will be a drawing each
of the three days of the Home and Garden
Show.
“Come stop by to say hello and share your
gardening questions and stories with our help-
ful, friendly experts.”
26 years & growing
Laurel Bay Gardens is Florence’s award-win-
ning full-service commercial and residential
landscaping company for the past 26 years.
They offer a nursery, irrigation system installa-
tion and service; patios, walkways and retaining
walls; bulk sales of rock, bark, soils, and com-
post; and a gift shop with an ever-changing
selection of seasonal home and yard décor.
“We know what grows,” says Walter-
Sedlacek. “One size does not fit all in this area.
We don’t offer cookie-cutter ideas to clients. We
don’t just stick a plant in the sand and hope it
grows. We invest heavily in continuous educa-
tion for our staff and management for the bene-
fit of our customers.”
Laurel Bay Gardens’ staff counsels their cus-
tomers on what kinds of plants work in which
environments, not just in the coastal Oregon cli-
mate, but on which side of the client’s house, in
proximity to existing plants, and in what combi-
nation of soils and moisture that may occur nat-
urally at the customer’s site.
In fact, Walter-Sedlacek has worked with
suppliers to develop their signature soil blend
“Royal Soil,” custom-formulated to Florence-
area bio systems.
Laurel Bay Gardens is located north of Fred
Meyer in Florence at 88493 Highway 101. Call
