SIUSLAW NEWS ❚ WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2016 Roads closed due to slides Lane County Public Works announced Tuesday morning that hazardous road conditions have closed two routes in the Florence area. Big Creek Road, off Highway 101 north of Florence, is closed through tomorrow, Feb. 18, from mile- posts 2.7 to 3.7 due to a slide. Alternate routes include Highway 126 to North Fork Siuslaw Road and Upper North Fork Road. North Fork Siuslaw Road, off Highway 36 near Mapleton, is closed indefinite- ly from mileposts 15.7 to 15.9 due to an unstable slide area. Taking Highway 126 to North Fork Siuslaw Road is an alternate route.
