Florence is accepting
applications for a full-
time corrections officer
through Monday, Feb. 15, at
5 p.m.
The corrections officer is
responsible for enforcing the
rules and regulations of the
City of Florence Jail, pre-
venting escapes, maintain-
ing order and discipline
among inmates to and from
cells to court and other
related appointments and
providing supervision of
security
while
maint-
aining custody of those
detained.
The salary will be $22.83
to $26.49 an hour.

After World War II they
moved to Bozeman, Mont.,
and had two children: Ed and
Bev.
The family later lived in
Spokane,
Wash.,
and
Billings, Mont., before Katie
and Chuck retired in
Florence.

Oregon coast and Chuck
shared her love of living near
the ocean.
Katie was an avid garden-
er all her life, and later in life
enjoyed reading, watching
football and playing pinochle
with friends.
She always looked forward
to bingo at the Senior Center
in Florence, and later at
Town Center Village in
Portland, where she moved at
age 90 to be near her daugh-
ter after breaking her hip in a
fall.
Katie is survived by her
two children, Edward and
Beverly; two grandchildren
and four great-grandchild-
ren.
Her family all loved living
near her for these last few
years of her life.
