Author Welch to speak at City Club
Keynote speaker and story-
teller Bob Welch will speak at
Florence City Club on Friday,
Feb. 5.
His previous City Club
programs have been favorites
of the club members.
A well-known author and
former national award-win-
ning Register-Guard colum-
nist, Welch will be speaking
on “The Power of Story in a
World that has Overdosed on
Information.”
His forte is people, he says.
Author Mike Yorkey calls
Welch “perhaps the most
eclectic writer in America.”
His books range in topics
from children’s stories to
World War II, from hiking the
Oregon portion of the Pacific
Crest Trail to nuggets-of-life
wisdom from plays.
The program begins at
noon at Ocean Dunes Golf
