DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
Thursday at 8 p.m. on KWBP
After a warm-up from its charac-
ters appearing on “The Flash” and
“Arrow,” DC Comics’ television
universe grows again with the
premiere of this adventure series.
Such heroes as The Atom (played
by Brandon Routh) and Hawkman
(Falk Hentschel) are featured as
time traveler Rip Hunter (Arthur
Darvill) organizes them to combat
Vandal Savage’s (Casper Crump)
threat to mankind. Victor Garber,
Dominic Purcell and Wentworth
Miller also star in “Pilot, Part 1.”
Lucifer
Monday at 9 p.m. on KLSR
The devil typically is considered
an enemy, but this new, comic-
book-based series puts him
on the side of the good guys.
The “Pilot” introduces Tom El-
lis (“Rush”) as the charismatic
demon who now runs a Los
Angeles nightclub, aiming to
see justice for evildoers instead
of cheering them on. “Chicago
Fire” alum Lauren German
plays a police detective, and DB
Woodside also stars. Filmmaker
Len Wiseman (“Underworld”) is
an executive producer here.
Outsiders
Tuesday at 7 p.m., 8 p.m.,
9 p.m. on WGN-A
Playwright and novelist Peter Mattei
(“The Deep Whatsis”) created this
gritty new drama series in associa-
tion with Peter Tolan (“Rescue Me”)
and actor Paul Giamatti, about an
insular renegade family living off the
grid atop rugged Shay Mountain in
Kentucky. From that perch, the close-
knit Farrell clan defends its way of
life from the townspeople below
or any outside challengers. David
Morse, Ryan Hurst and Thomas
M. Wright (“The Bridge”) head the
ensemble cast.
