OBITUARIES
GUILLORY —Clif
Guillory, 76, died Wednesday,
Jan.
13,
2016, after a
long illness
and will be
d e a r l y
missed by
friends and
family.
Clif was
Clif Guillory born in what
he called “an
old family farmhouse in Texas
back country,” and didn’t get a
birth certificate until he started
school.
His family moved around
but settled in Southern
California, where he attended
Redondo Beach High School.
He loved all sports but
excelled in wrestling.
He joined the Navy in 1961
and served on the USS
Kearsarge and in Vietnam.
He joined IBM in 1965,
where he met his wife, Kathy,
and they were married in
1981. They moved to Florence
in 1985 and his career changed
to remodeling, building and
real estate.
Clif loved camping and
fishing, any football game and
enjoyed many years of bowl-
ing.
Clif is survived by his wife,
Kathy; daughters: Kathy
Anderson and her husband,
Dirk; Dianna Kramer of
Florence; Michelle of North
Carolina, Mary Anne Guillory
of California; and his son,
Charles Kramer, of Florence.
Grandchildren include: Wil,
Cal and Clay Kramer, Kevin
Strenke, DJ and Hanna
Anderson, John, Ian, Conner,
Julia and Tyler.
Memorial services will be
held at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church on Friday, Jan 22, at
11 a.m., with refreshments
after.
Donations can be made to
the Siuslaw High School
Wrestling team in his name

Florence, OR 97439).

SPEER—Lora M. Speer,
76, of Florence, passed away
Jan. 8, 2016, from pulmonary
fibrosis.
Lora was born June 1, 1939,
in Lancaster, Ohio, to Charles
and
Samantha
“Peggy”
Bauman.
She lived in Columbus,
Ohio, into her teens, then
moved with her parents to
Eugene, Ore., then to
Florence, and lived here for 59
years.
She married Manuel Speer
in Florence on April 11, 1957.
Lora worked many years for
the Siuslaw School District as
the custodian at the high
school, until her retirement.
She enjoyed bowling on
several leagues — of which
she was the secretary —
camping, taking cruises, bak-
ing and spending time with
family.
She was a member of the
Florence Elks Lodge.
Survivors include her four
sons: Deen (Maureen) of
Roseburg, Ore.; Stevan of
Amadeo, Philippines; Gary
(Linda) of Monroe, Wash.; and
Robbie (Pam) of Wasilla,
Ark.; seven grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren and
her “Significant Other,” Jerry
Maddox of Florence.
A celebration of life will be
held Saturday, Jan. 23, at
noon, at the Florence Elks
Lodge.

Gillock III, 70, passed away
Dec. 10, 2015.
He was
born May
5, 1945, in

Gillock.

moved with
his family to California in
1953 and graduated from
James Marshall High School
in West Sacramento, Calif., in
1963.
He married Jane Webster in
1964 and they raised two sons
together.
They moved to Garberville,
Calif., in 1977, and he
designed and built a lovely
home.
Truman
married
Gail
Morrison in 1992 in Genoa,
Nev., and they shared many
60TH ANNIVERSARY
loving years together.
He had various careers in
his life, but being a truck driv-
er was his favorite job and it
was his dream since he was a
young boy.
He retired from Douglas
Disposal,
Inc.,
in
Gardnerville, Nev., in 2005,
and moved to Florence, where
he enjoyed fishing, camping,
traveling, dancing, golfing and
woodworking for several
years.
He finished a beautiful
cedar-lined chest in November
2015.
He was also an active mem-
ber of the Florence Elks
Lodge.
Truman had a vibrant per-
sonality; he touched a lot of
hearts and loved life.
Survivors include his wife,
Gail; sons, Brian and Coby
(Laura);
granddaughters:
Heather and Kiera; his mother,
Marion; his brothers: Jim and
Norm (Dot); his sister, Narda
Adams (Rick); two aunts, one
uncle and several cousins,
nieces and nephews.
Truman was preceded in
death by his father, Truman A.
Gillock Jr.
A celebration of life will be
held in the spring.

She had three brothers: Bill,
Jerry and Lloyd Schwengel.
Connie lived in California,
Hawaii, New Mexico and
Oregon.
On May 9, 1960, she mar-
ried Richard Schweier, who
preceded her in death in 1994.
In 1995, she was blessed to
find love again and married
Rex Wampler of Florence,
who she is survived by.
Connie was a lifelong dedi-
cated member of the Jehovah
Witnesses Organization.
Her interests were family,
collecting
jewelry
and
seashells.
While in Los Alamos, NM.,
she owned a unique restaurant
and antique store; in Kailua,
Hawaii, she and Richard owned
an auto detail business; and in
Florence, they owned and oper-
ated Schweier’s Landing Adult
Foster Care Home.
Connie enjoyed being a wife
and mother. She had many
friends and she will be remem-
bered fondly.
In addition to her husband,
Rex, she is also survived by her
daughter, Lucy Cole; sons
George Schweier and Denzel
Schweier; many grandchildren
and great-grandchildren; and
by her, brother Lloyd.
A memorial service will be
announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions can
be made to the Lora Speer
Memorial Fund at Oregon
Pacific Bank in Florence.

53, of Florence, passed away
Jan. 18, 2016.

anniversary reception after
church on Dec. 27, 2015.
The Gardners were mar-
ried Dec. 31, 1955, at the
Mapleton
Evangelical
Church.
Farrell was with Champion
International for 30 years,
Eagle Veneer for five years
and Emerald Acres for five
years.
Dona worked at a Florence
bank,
different
offices
around town and was a stay-
at-home mother.
Both are now retired.
The couple has two sons:
Greg and Kevin (and wife,
Jennifer); a daughter, Leslie
Francis; four grandchildren
and seven great-grandchil-
dren.
A dinner party was held at
The Sizzler at Gateway Mall
the evening of Dec. 27.
The Gardners enjoy travel-
ing,
hunting,
camping,
spending time with family
and friends and attending
Mapleton
Evangelical
Church.
Also honored that night
were close friends Wallace
and Robert Detering, of
Harrisburg, who celebrated
66 years of marriage Dec. 31.
