TATOM—Thomas
Neil
Tatom, 76,

passed away
Dec.
19,
2016, at his
home
in
Winchester
Bay.
Thomas
Thomas Tatom
was
born
April 15, 1939, to Edwin and
Alma Tatom. He was raised
along the North Fork of the
Siuslaw River, but over the
years spent time living in
Mapleton, Newport, British
Columbia and Sitka, Alaska,
before retiring to Winchester
Bay.
Thomas was a high school
graduate and served in the U.S.
Navy. He worked in the log-
ging industry as a timber faller,

log truck driver. At one time, he
owned and operated his own
logging company. He was a
hard worker and logging was
his passion. He also owned and
operated a commercial fishing
boat and was an avid fisherman
in his younger years.
He had a great sense of
humor and loved to tease. His
blue eyes would always twin-
kle when he pulled something
over on someone with his teas-
ing.
He had a kind heart and was
a friend to many.
He will be missed by every-
one who knew him, although
their lives are richer because
they knew him.
He is survived by his devot-
ed dogs, Lady Bug and Boo,
who miss him and are looking
for a new home; sister-in-laws
Tracy and Joyce; his adopted
family: Rick and Julie Beck,
and Carrie and Alisha Hoile;
many cousins, nieces and
nephews.

Tatom; three brothers: Edwin,
