Two-day music festival will host variety of artisans, performers

and Sunday.
In what has become the Oregon coast’s premier win-
ter music festival, the Florence Winter Music Festival is
growing and thriving in new ways by expanding its
musical offerings and ancillary events while retaining
favorite aspects like the artisan fair.
“We’re thrilled by the response again this year,” says
Rachel Pearson, chairperson of the Winter Music
Festival Committee, part of the Friends of the Florence
Events Center, a nonprofit group that produces the event

and raises support for the FEC.
“We’ll see a very high level of artistry and craftsman-
ship in everything from home and garden décor to hand-
crafted wearables, candles, photography, and jewelry,”
adds Pearson. “There will be great diversity among the
artisans which means something for everyone this year.
Plus, we’ve hired a new caterer and there will be the
traditional pie sale.”
New to the festival this year are music documentary
films at City Lights Cinemas.
“Michael Falter and his crew will be showing two
films, including SXSW award-winner, ‘The Winding
Stream,’ which traces the roots of music featured at the
festival; and the iconic ‘Don’t Look Back,’ considered
one of the most intellectual rock films ever made,” says

Saturday night’s musical co-headliners are Shook
Twins and Jonathan Edwards.
Shook Twins are a fun and exciting Indie folk-pop
band with an eclectic, amusing, and whimsical
approach. They excel at guitar, banjo, mandolin,
ukulele, glockenspiel, and inventive percussion. USA
Today says the group “is ready to rattle the music
world.”
Jonathan Edwards, a true singer-songwriter in a
league with James Taylor, Carole King, and Jim Croce,
delivers songs of passion, insight, and humor with his
signature pure-and-powerful tenor voice.
