MILLER—Delores Ann
Miller, 70, of Florence, passed
away in a
tragic acci-
dent on the
morning of
Dec. 18,
2015.
Delores
was born
to Arthur
and Emily Delores Miller
Lundeen in
Minnesota on Oct. 28, 1945.
She moved to Oregon in the
early 1960s and married Gary
L. Miller in 1969.
She was co-owner of Aloha
Garbage Co., Inc. She was well
known for her love of cooking
and extensive travel. The love
for family and friends was pro-
found.
She left behind her husband,
Gary; her sons: Keith
(Carolyn)
and
Stephen
(Celestial); daughter, Michelle;
sisters: Marie and Patty (Greg);
and numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
She is preceded in death by
her parents and a son, Kirk.
A private family interment
will be held.
In her memory, the family
requests donations to the
Florence
Area
Humane
Society.

KELLER—Jack A. Keller,
94, of Florence, passed away
Dec. 23, 2015,
of an injury
caused by a
fall.
He was
born May
7, 1921, to
Lois
and
John Keller
in
Flint,
Jack Keller
Mich.
He served in the U.S. Air
Force from 1942 to 1954 and
retired from the Air Force
Reserve as a Lieutenant
Colonel in 1965.
Jack graduated from Eastern
80th BIRTHDAY
Michigan University in 1953
and was employed by the Ford
Motor Company in Dearborn,
Mich., from 1954 until 1981,
when he retired as manager of
the Security, Fire and Safety
Department.
Jack and Martha were mar-
ried in 1962 and together raised
two sons, Jon Charles and
Joseph Arthur, and a daughter,
Barbara Elizabeth “Betsy.”
The family lived in Ypsilanti
and Dearborn, Mich., until
1981, at that time moving to
Mesa, Ariz.
Jack and Martha came to
Florence in 2001, having spent
several summers here as part-
time residents.
Jack was always an active
participant in the community.
He served as a city councilman,
on many state boards as an
active member, as a church
leader and as a worker for var-
ious charitable and social and
professional organizations.
He is survived by his wife,
Martha, their children: Jon,
Joseph (Teri) and Betsy; and
numerous nieces and nephews
and cousins.
A memorial celebration
service of his life will be held
Saturday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., at
the Florence United Methodist
Church with inurnment at a
later date in Michigan.
At the family’s request, con-
tributions in his memory can be
made to the Methodist
Church’s memorial fund.
These may be left at the memo-
rial service or with Burns’s
Riverside Chapel Florence
Funeral Home, which is in
charge of arrangements.
