In November of every year, the City Recorder’s office issues busi- ness license renewals for each permanent business. 3 A Decking the halls These business license renewals are due by Dec. 31 of each year. The artwork will be on display from Jan. 5 through Feb 1. Three out-of-town judges have been selected for this show, each one respected in their field of expertise in 2-D, 3-D and photography artworks. A cash prize of $150 will be awarded for first place in each category, along with honorable mention ribbons. Each artist may submit up to three pieces of art, and all pieces must be for sale. A non- refundable fee of $20 per work must be sent with the entry form. Reproductions of original artwork (ink-jet prints, etc., with the exception of photogra- phy) are not eligible. All artwork must be hand- delivered to Gallery One at the Florence Events Center on Monday, Jan. 4, between 9 a.m. and noon. A reception for artists, their family and friends, and the community will be held Jan. 9, between 2 and 5 p.m., with awards presented at 2:30 p.m. Applications are available on the FEC website at www. eventcenter.org, or come to the FEC office during regular hours to obtain the necessary forms. Florence Area Chamber of Commerce announces Holiday Light Display winners Many homes and business- es have brought quite a sparkle throughout the Florence area this holiday season with extraordinary displays. The Central Lincoln PUD and the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce brought back the Florence Holiday Light Display Contest this year. They awarded several community members and businesses for their outstanding effort. According to Chamber Event Coordinator Sherri Bollinger, “Old Man Winter delivered up some rather blustery weather as our team of judges set out Thursday evening.” The team visited the resi- dential and commercial loca- tions entered in the contest.
