The Executive Director manages the Chamber of
Commerce office/visitor information center and acts as
the coordinator between the board, standing commit-
tees of the chamber, chamber membership and chamber
volunteers. In addition, the Executive Director is
responsible for membership recruitment and coordinat-
ing the marketing activity for the various activities and
events sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and its
membership. The Executive Director also facilitates the
sharing of information with local and regional commu-
nity agencies, governmental organizations, and various
tourism, marketing and industry groups in order to pro-
mote new business development and expansion of com-
merce in the Florence area.
This position requires an individual who is self-
motivated, verbally articulate and highly marketing ori-
ented. PC skills consisting of a knowledge of Microsoft
Word and Excel are required. Basic accounting skills
including experience with Quickbooks are preferred.
