The Oregon Coast Military Museum will host the 3rd Annual Festival of Trees on Sunday,
November 29th at the florence events center.

The merchants may offer special discounts, wine tasting or some inviting music to
enhance your time in our unique shops and restaurants.
12 -DEAD IN THE SLED - A MURDER MYSTERY
Florence’s own warped and wicked Poison Pen Players are back with another hilarious
murder mystery comedy at the Florence Events Center on December 12th at 7 pm. This
professional comedy murder mystery troupe has nearly 20 years of experience in the
genre, and they claim that they really know how to relieve your holiday stress…with a
whole lot of laughter! The show’s title is “Dead in the Sled: Ho, Ho, Ho….OH NO!” and was
written by Poison Pen Matriarch, Rose Ellen Jacobson.
13 - APPALACHIAN WINTER, A CHRISTMAS CONCERT BY THE COMMUNITY CHORUS
On December 13th, the Community Chorus of Florence Oregon will present Appalachian
Winter, a cantata that celebrates the legacy of early American carols. This concert will take
place at 2:00 p.m. at the Florence Event Center
12 - PEACE HARBOR HOSPICE "LIGHT UP A LIFE"
Peace Harbor Hospice invites the public to “Light Up a Life” on December 12 from 2 to 3:30
p.m. Anyone in the community can honor those whose lives have touched the lives of
others by joining the annual Light Up a Life celebration.
Admission to the event is free. A tree decorated with the stars of names that are being
honored will be lit. Music and refreshments are also a part of the event. Everyone is
welcome, whether or not they have had a loved one on hospice.
15 - EUGENE BALLET NUTCRACKER
This memorable holiday extravaganza once again fills the stage with smiling faces of all
ages as hundreds of young dancers join the Company to tell
this beloved story with its grand adventures taken by Clara
and Hans.
The Nutcracker brings the holiday spirit into focus,
transporting you through Clara›s dreams and the wondrous
characters she encounters along the way. With the Sugar
Plum Fairy and her Cavalier as guides, you›ll fly away to the
Snow Kingdom and the Land of the Sweets, but not before
battling the Mouse King and his pirate henchmice.
Toni Pimble›s exquisite choreography and Don Carson›s
colorful and magical sets are masterfully orchestrated to
create the perfect tradition for everyone on your holiday list.

gifts for those special people. A percentage of all sales will be donated to Empty Bowls.

Doors will open for the 20th annual Empty Bowls event at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4.
The event will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, and Sunday
December 6 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
All proceeds from Empty Bowls will benefit Florence Food Share, the local food pantry.
Sponsors, local artists and restaurants donate their talent, time and wares to make this
event possible. Hundreds of handmade ceramic bowls created by local artists are sold to
the public. Artwork of many kinds will be available for bidding at the silent auction section
of the event.
