Who we are and What we do:

What we Need:
Approximately 40% of the food we distribute is
purchased from our county food bank in Eugene, Food
for Lane County. Because we are able to purchase food
from them at a deep discount, we are able to access and
distribute 65 pounds of food for every dollar donation
we receive. For this reason, it is much better for us to
receive cash instead of canned food.
The mission of Florence Food Share is to alleviate
hunger in Western Lane County, and we do this by
distributing emergency food boxes to those in need.
Our 250 square mile service area includes approximately
10,000 residents, of which an average of 1,750 individuals
per month are Food Share clients. What this equates to

One of the highlights of our food pantry is our
15,000 square foot (non-certified) organic garden, with
52 raised vegetable beds and 2 High Tunnel greenhouses.
It is now affectionately called Food Share Farm, as it is
much more than a garden. From our little mini-farm,
we distributed close to 10,000 pounds of vegetables to
our clients in 2014.
