Oldtime Fiddlers to play
Rocky Horror at City Lights
The Oregon Oldtime Fiddlers
Association, District 5 will be play-
ing onstage from 1 to 3 p.m. at the
Winchester Bay Community Center,
with an acoustic circle jam following
from 3 to 4 p.m.
The public is invited to listen
and/or dance and become a member.
The Oldtime Fiddlers is a non-prof-
it organization whose purpose is to
promote, preserve and perpetuate Old
Time fiddling and Old Time music.
The musical events are free.

The KCST “Viking Hour” radio
show crew is hosting this event to
connect the senior citizen community
with high school students.

The annual Community Thanks-
giving Dinner will be at the Florence
Elks Lodge, from noon to 2 p.m.
Dinner, with all the traditional
Thanksgiving trimmings, is free to

The Festival of Trees continues
from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Gala of
Giving, a semi-formal ticketed event.
The gala will have champagne and
hors d’oeurves to kick off the live
auction of the festive trees. There
will be more than a dozen large trees
as well as tabletop trees available.
Tickets for the gala are available at
the Gilday State Farm Insurance
office or TR Hunter Real Estate
Office.
Get in the holiday spirit during the
Florence Festival of Trees, from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend at the
Florence Events Center, where trees
and wreaths will be on display.
Come enjoy the festive atmosphere
and purchase a holiday wreath.
All wreaths and trees have been
decorated and donated by local busi-
nesses, groups or families, with all
proceeds going to support the Oregon
Coast Military Museum.
Santa will also be in attendance at
the festival to hear children’s
Christmas wishes.

Tree of Giving returns
The “Tree of Giving” is now in its
15th year at Siuslaw Glass and
Mirror, at 1780 Kingwood St.
Starting Monday, stop in for some
holiday cheer and select an ornament
from the tree. Each ornament repre-
sents specific needs of a high school
teen in need of necessities.
Gifts must be dropped off at
Siuslaw Glass and Mirror no later
than Dec. 16, to be distributed before
Christmas break. Help make the sea-
son brighter for a high school teen.
Tradition brings Santa and Mrs.
Claus back to Historic Old Town
Florence for the annual Tree
Lighting, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at
Gazebo Park on Bay Street, when
Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by
fire truck.
Santa will love taking photos with
you in the Gazebo.
Hot cocoa and cider will be avail-
able.
