Lori Gates Lori is married to Steve Gates and has two chil- dren – Heather and Jonathan. She has been working at Oregon Pacific Bank since 1983. Lori enjoys family activities such as school sports, camping and outdoor activities. Married to Lesa and together they have 9 children and 18 grandchildren. He has been a volunteer member since 1986 and is happily retired. His hobbies include motorcycles and ATV’s. Elected to the board in May of 2015 Tony Phillips John Carnahan Elected to the board May 2015- Tony is a Florence native. He is married to Melissa, both are Siuslaw HS graduates. They have two sons Kevin and Kyle, also Siuslaw HS graduates. Tony and Melissa own Tony’s Garage specializing in auto service and repair. The Phillips family including Kevin’s wife Lindsey work in the day to day operations. Tony is a ASE Certified Master Technician. His hobbies and interests include classic automobiles, motorcycles, travel and relaxation time with his family and friends. Her 3 kids and 4 grandbabies are her life and keep her very busy, and when she finds spare time, loves the beach, outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Sean is a Division Chief/Fire Marshall and has been an active member of the Fire Department since 1987. Proudly married to his beautiful bride, Robynn, has 3 children, 2 step-sons and 4 grandchildren. Sean enjoys camping, boating, and riding his ATV. He also restores antique fire apparatus and collects fire memorabilia. His primary focus is the department….Just ask his family. Chief Marvin Tipler Marvin is a Florence native and a veteran of SVFR, having joined the Department in 1981 while still attending Siuslaw High School. He and his wife Rhonda have been married for 29 years and have two sons, Eric and Aron and three grandchildren, Jacob, Waylon and Luke. His hobbies are fishing, hunting, camping and woodworking. After retiring from the Navy, he was fortunate to find SVFR as a second career. When not at the fire department, Brian can be found working at TR Hunter Real Estate or keeping up on what’s going on as a City Councilor for the City of Florence. Brian and his wife, Jan, also own and run the River Gallery in Old Town. He was a founding member and Chief of the Ada/Canary Fire Dept. Dave retired from U.S. Forest Service in 2007, allowing him more time for building furniture, looking for treasure, fishing, and archaeology.
